Emmys 2010: Christina Hendricks in Zac Posen

Back in June, I raved about Zac Posen's Resort 2011 collection. So, I was extremely pleased to see the beautiful and talented Christina Hendricks in the gown that I raved about:

The purple gown from his collection in the pictures below is made for a red-carpet princess, and I would love to see it on Natalie Portman (who used to be his muse), because of her pixie-like look (or have it myself!).

She's about as far from Natalie Portman as you can get in Hollywood, and certainly not pixie-like, but I think this dress absolutely works on her. Some people have quibbled with the feathery accents, but I think it keeps the gown from being boring (as many of the gowns on the Emmy's 2010 red carpet were); the color, a soft and mysterious pale purple, looks exquisite on her pale skin, and works well with her tousled hair. It doesn't hurt that she has a flawless figure and the confidence to work the gown, either -- if only January Jones had worked her Altier Versace gown as well!

Vogue Paris' September Issue

My favorite mag by far is Vogue Paris, and I cannot wait to receive the September issue! The cover came out yesterday, and it is of the lovely Marion Cotillard wearing green eyeshadow and dark wine lips:




It's rare that Vogue Paris has a celebrity on its cover, but given her impeccable fashion sense and elegance, I am not disappointed at all. While I'm most excited for Freja Beha's editorial, it'll be interesting to see how they style Marion; I'd love to see her in edgier designs rather than the red-carpet glamor we normally see her in.
